Steve’s approach to developing individuals combines advanced coaching skills with leadership benchmarking and organisational thought partnering. Steve has assessed more than 1000 leaders for key roles and is able to weave examples of what world-class leaders do in ‘real life’ into his practice. His style is above all practical. His focus is on what works and what will stick. He draws on a wide range of approaches including solution-focused coaching, systemic constellations, cognitive behavioural therapy, positive psychology and acceptance commitment therapy.

Sessions can be conducted virtually or face-to-face. Live sessions can take place in a variety of locations including walking meetings or off-site to provide an environment where the client can do their best thinking.

After an initial fact-finding, a custom programme is prepared that can include:

  • Deep dive session to understand formative experiences, key drivers, hopes and aspirations for the work.

  • Use of validated psychometrics or stakeholder feedback to enrich self-awareness and provide powerful data points to inform goal setting.

  • Observation of key events or meetings to gather feedback on style, contribution and impact.

  • Targeted sessions to deal with crises or ‘set pieces’ such as investor days, strategy launches or press interviews.

  • Tailored coaching sessions.

  • Goal setting, review and wrap-up sessions with additional stakeholders.
